Hey lovelies!
Today’s post is slightly different for me, and I’m warning you now it’s not exactly well planned out lol I’ve been going through a lot lately (anyone on my twitter can tell thanks to my ridiculous ranting) and my head is just not where it needs to be right now. Unfortunately between that and work, the blog tends to get neglected. I try not to, but anyone who writes or blogs understands how difficult it is to concentrate on writing when you’re going through something bad.
But, I wanted to get this up anyways and I’ll definitely work towards doing tutorial type posts soon… Yep, I’m still considering YouTube but I keep chickening out 😛
For those of you who follow my instagram, you’ll know the look we’re talking about today:
I was feeling the mermaid vibe this day…. Okay, when am I not feeling that vibe?!…. And kind of just threw whatever I was feeling at the moment together into a look. Which is also why this post is totally not planned out haha
I’ll only be going over what I used on my eyes, if anyone wants to know what I used on the rest of my face, let me know in the comments below!
* Other than the Electric Palette (or similar shades), you’ll need a matte, skin toned – or close to – transition shade. I used a mixture of Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie and Beaches & Cream. Also I used a matte shade for my lid, this is optional.
The primer I used is Mac’s Paint Pot in Painterly.
–
I then mixed those two Makeup Geek shadows and messily blended them into my crease – this helps with blending later on! A great tip to use with any eyeshadow look.
To help with blending, I applied Jilted with a fluffy blending brush – Sigma’s E 25 – this helps blend Urban. You want it to transition from the purple right in your crease, lightly up to Jilted’s pinkish tone and then take your two skin tone shades and blend even more (see a pattern here?)!
On the inner portion of my bottom lash line, for a little more brightening I mixed Freak and Thrash.
Lastly, Revolt on the very inner corner. This shade, I recommend using a foiling method using either Mac Fix +, another setting spray, or some water. This was the only part that wasn’t as pigmented as I would have liked so doing that will help!
So here’s the final look! I hope this post was helpful and not as confusing as I’m worried it is LOL I apologize again, I’m so scatterbrained lately but I had promised to get this up.
I mixed a bit of Slowburn with my blush and also put it over Milani’s Nude Creme on my lips to add a pretty coral pink feel!—

Thank you for reading! xoxo

SO gorgeous! I love these colors on you! 🙂
Thank you beautiful!
I love it! Paired with your hair it is very Little Mermaid-ish. 😉 And thanks for the tip about applying neutral shadows in the crease first; I’ll definitely be trying that the next time I pull out my Electric Palette. Great post!
Definitely not a normal look for me but it’s fun!
OMG, this is sooooo gorgeous! 😀 the eyes are so pretty, and your hair looks beautiful!!! 😀
It was awesome to find out what colours your actually used to create this look. When I re-created this look I didn’t get to see a close up of your eye!!! How beautiful, I just love this look on you!! Stunning….
Gorgeous look, you look amazing! ^_^
This looks pretty great, and with the hair.. awesome!
This look is so gorgeous!
Thank you!
Gorgeous look♡
Thanks doll!
Your welcome 🙂
I have used the shadow and agree—-they are HIGHLY pigmented and go on like a dream. They sell an eye base in a pot that I love also—-soft and silky and keeps the shadow color true and longer lasting. Try it!
oops, I meant thie remark above for the Motives line of cosmetics…..
Such a gorgeous look, you look like the Little Mermaid with the purple and green on your eyes and the red hair!!! Just beautiful!!!
Thanks, doll! ❤
