Sephora & MAC Haul – August 2014:

❀

“There’s something to say about inspiration – when it comes into your life… The feeling is insatiable.”

❀

Hello, beauties! How are you?

At the beginning of August I went a little crazy with shopping… Between makeup and clothing, I spent way too much…. But sometimes you just need those splurges, right?! At least that’s what I tell myself LOL

While shopping I stopped at Sephora and picked up a few things I’ve been dying to try.

IMG_9882I picked up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette (now sold in stores!), Kat Von D’s Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Bauhau5 and Bite Beauty’s Cashmere Lip Cream in Port.

IMG_9883Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders are face powders designed to give your face a natural looking glow. Each shade is made to give you a glow like you are in different types of lighting. Most are very subtle but gorgeous. This palette was limited edition but it was so popular that it’s now permanent!

IMG_9884 The shades from left to right are: Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light. Incandescent light is exclusive to this palette.

This palette is $58, each single shade is $45 — it’s an amazing deal!

I’ve been loving this lately, if you’d like a more in depth review let me know.

IMG_3045Kat Von D’s Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks are creamy lip stains that dry totally matte. They last for hours and the pigmentation is incredible.

IMG_3039I cannot explain how perfect this shade is. I absolutely adore berry lippies and this is just stunning.

IMG_3047It can be slightly drying so I recommend applying a lip balm underneath.

1555551_10154432694945392_8682076713180093923_nHere it is on my lips. How GORGEOUS is this?!

Kat Von D’s Everlasting Love Liquid lipsticks are $19.

IMG_3052Bite Beauty’s Cashmere Lip Cream in the shade Port. These are described as a “cream-to-powder matte lip color”… I was intrigued by the description and as my regular readers know, I’m a huge fan of Bite Beauty products so I just had to try this!

IMG_3058Port is a gorgeous deep red wine shade. Perfect for fall!

IMG_9908I haven’t tried this one yet, as with everything – let me know if you want a review!

Bite Beauty’s Cashmere lip creams are $28.

–

Next up… MAC!

IMG_9881I have to admit, I am becoming a total MAC whore. I just can’t help myself!

–

IMG_9887First up…. Cyber. Can you tell I’m excited for the Fall?!

IMG_9886Cyber is a satin finish described as “an intense blackish-purple”… It’s super vampy and dark, not for the faint of heart. I cannot wait to wear this!

–

IMG_9903I also picked up a shade of Pro Longwear Concealer…. I’m loving this so far.

–

I picked up 5 blushes:

IMG_9888Rosy Outlook.IMG_9889

IMG_9890Rosy Outlook is a semi-matte described as a light yellow pink. The shade and pigmentation is wonderful.

–

IMG_9891Melba.

IMG_9892-1

IMG_9893-1Melba is a matte described as a soft coral-peach. It’s showing up more orange in the swatch above than in person. This shade is perfection, the texture and pigmentation is amazing; it’s perfect for just about any makeup look.

–

IMG_9894Peaches.

IMG_9895-1

IMG_9896Peaches is a sheertone finish described as a pure peach.. This one applies lightly at first but as you can see above, is easily buildable for a ton of color.

–

IMG_9897Cantaloupe.

IMG_9898

IMG_9899Cantaloupe is a satin finish, described as a rich warm cantaloupe. I’ve been wearing this shade almost daily, either on its own or mixed with other blushes!

–

IMG_9900Margin.

IMG_9901

IMG_9902Margin is a frost finish described as a peach with a golden shimmer… This shade is EVERYTHING! Absolutely amazing for that flawless glowy look.

–

Lastly, I got two pigments..

IMG_9904Tan. A frost finish described as a muted pinky brown bronze.

IMG_9906This shade is probably one of the prettiest pigments ever. But…….. The second I saw it in person, I knew I had a dupe….

10559956_528578590607241_1109586891579136254_nLoreal’s Infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush… EXACT same, except it’s a pressed pigment rather than loose. I have not noticed any difference in wear-time so if you want Tan, head to the drugstore and save some money!

–

IMG_9905Naked. A matte finish described as a fleshy beige with pearl.

IMG_9907I could not get a good enough picture of this swatched but it’s beautiful. I love this all over the lid when doing a brown smokey eye. I’m not sure why it’s considered a matte because it has a sheen and sparkle to it but it’s definitely not metallic or anything. It just adds a gorgeous, simple and classy glow to the lids.

  1. What an amazing haul girl! I have the ambient lighting palette coming in the mail & I can’t wait to try it! I wish I could get my hands on Kat Von D, that lip colour looks freaking amazing! And now I think I need that MAC blush in rosy outlook 😜

  2. Wow great haul! It’s a good thing you mentioned that dupe because I have amber rush, and recently I had been considering getting the Tan pigment, thanks for the heads up!
    XOXO

  3. Hey girl! I have the Naked pigment from Mac, too! Can I use it on my cheeks?? The girl at the counter said I could, but should I add a touch into my foundation and apply it that way or just dust a little on over my cheeks with a powder brush once I’m done with my make up?? Thanks!!!

  4. Hi! I really want to order some of the ambient lighting powders from hourglass, but I don`t know what to get, and since I’m from europe, I will have to buy it online. I was wondering if you had taken the time to swatch some of the powders in sephora? Did you try the luminous light too? If you did, do you think you could recreate this one, by mixing incandescent light and radiant light from the palette you bought?

    Thank you!
