FOTD/OOTD & Sally’s Haul:

The weather has been gorgeous this week so I’ve been pretty much living in dresses.. I had off yesterday, laid around in the sun then ran to Sally’s… πŸ™‚

I got this dress at K-Mart and I love it! I was never one to shop at K-Mart (I kind of forgot we even had one here)… Then randomly one day my mom asked if I wanted to go and wander the store… I was surprised at the cute clothes they had! This dress was super cheap, it’s well made and so comfortable. They had a few different patterns but I liked this one the most. It has a sort of keyhole cut in the back, you’ll be able to see it a little in the photo below..

Excuse my paleness! (the reason I need to lay out more often!) LOL… I just did a quick side braid and minimal makeup: put on a light layer of Covergirl’s 3-in-1 foundation, NYX’s blush in Peach, Almay’s Get Up & Grow mascara, and for my lips I dabbed on Maybelline Vivid’s Shocking Coral for a pretty flush of color.. This shows how versatile the Vivid’s lipsticks can be. They are insanely pigmented but if you just put them on very lightly, you’ll get a really pretty and natural stain that will last you all day! .. My earrings are from Forever 21.

Better shot of my shoes, from Target. I love these! Only $20 πŸ™‚

And for Sally’s, I wanted to get a curling wand but the one I had in mind wasn’t on sale like I had thought so I decided to wait on it. So I just picked up these random things:

Just some butterfly clamps, elastic bands.. One N Only Argan Oil Treatment, Frutique’s Papaya Enzyme Exfoliating Gel…

Also this teasing comb, forgot to add it in the picture above.

I haven’t tried this yet, but it got pretty good reviews and my skin has a very slow turnover rate for my age so exfoliation is really important to keep my skin looking healthy.. I love trying different exfoliators because I’m pretty picky πŸ™‚

I’ll update on my feelings on this after I use it for a while.

I heard about this from Ciaoobelllaxo on youtube.. (Love her!) I put this in my hair after the shower – I let my hair air dry for maybe 15 minutes, then applied about a nickel sized amount to my hair from my jawline down, concentrating on my ends. My hair is super damaged from dyeing my hair as well as curling it all the time and this has already made a difference! After one application, my hair feels really soft! I’m excited to keep using this and seeing more great results. It’s definitely a better alternative to the really expensive hair oils on the market now – it was only $10!

    1. Hey Brandon,
Blackheads are just clogged pores that have been exposed to air – the oxygen is what turns them black. On your nose, they mainly are caused by oiliness so unfortunately everyone gets them and you can’t totally stop them from happening but cleansing your face in the morning and at night will help – Dove now makes skin care products for men that are pretty cheap, you can get them at any drugstore or a Walmart, Target, places like that. There are body & face washes as well as one strictly for your face. Just dampen your face with some water and rub this in for about 30-60 seconds, then rinse off. Do it in the morning and at night and that will help with some excess oiliness.. Be sure to moisturize after though.
You can also buy those pore strips you can find at drugstores as well, they work pretty good.
Another option to remove them is mixing a bit of baking soda with water, apply that to your nose for maybe 30 seconds and this should loosen them up so you can squeeze them out, but be gentle so you don’t damage your skin.
Hope I explained this well enough, anymore questions feel free to ask πŸ™‚

      1. I’ve been told to use tissue and squeeze then out so it doesn’t damage your skin. I use the nose strips but for some reason it isn’t cleaning my blackheads fully. As you said though I can’t get rid of them fully. Another question, what is the best lotion/moisturizer to use for dry skin. I use coco butter but it doesn’t help my dry skin very well.

        Brandon

      2. Yeah, that can help and to kind of teach yourself how much pressure to use, if you break through the tissue you are using too much pressure.
Try steaming your face for a few minutes beforehand. You can just get a washcloth hot and hold it to your face, or boil some water and hold your face over the steam for a few minutes (be careful, of course).. This will open your pores and make it easier to remove them.
        Moisturizer for face or body?
