Hey dolls! I have a sponsored review for you today; super exciting! From the website Brand Backer: a site for beauty bloggers to join in order to connect and work with the brands that have joined the site. Every week there are brands having “Campaigns” that you can request to join, and if you are accepted you can review one of their products.
The first product I was accepted to review is from a brand called Studio Gear Cosmetics! Here is some background about this company: “Founded by industry veterans Steve Rohr and John Avolio, Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigous cosmetics brand featuring a full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionalizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Since 1996, Studio Gear has been on set at hundreds of professional photo shoots, in the beauty departments of Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Dillard’s, HSN and ULTA, and also in the everyday woman’s makeup bag. This is a line created true to the concept that every woman deserves professional, high quality cosmetics at a reasonable price.”
Studio Gear has makeup brushes, every kind of makeup you could think of, even skin care products!
The product I was given for review is the Holiday Smokey Eye palette:
The palette comes in this protective slip.
Here is the front of the palette, it is cardboard packaging. Very small and compact!
The back of the palette lists all ingredients.
You open it up and the top has step-by-step directions to get a classic smokey eye! I love that this is super detailed and the picture is helpful.
Here is a close-up of the directions!
You get four eyeshadows and a blush. All metallic & shimmery.
The eyeshadows are first and the blush is the last swatch. The shades are, from left to right: Frost, Platinum, Coal, Glimmer, and the blush at the end is called Snowy Glow.
*Side note, the shade names are different on the picture diagram than in the palette so if you are following the directions be careful you’re applying the right shades.
Frost is the only eyeshadow that didn’t have good pigmentation, but a white base underneath would help this color stand out a lot more. This shade is best for brightening up the inner corners of the eye.
Platinum is a beautiful silver metallic, it feels creamy and has great pigmentation.
Coal is a beautiful black with blue and silver glitters, the pigmentation is pretty good. Adding a dark base underneath would really make this super dramatic.
Glimmer is a gorgeous metallic light gold/champagne, I wish the pigmentation was a little bit better but you can build it up when you pack it on.
Snowy Glow is a pretty warm pinky coral with a slight shimmery sheen to it, this will add a beautiful glow to the cheeks. Great pigmentation and I LOVE the name of this shade, so cute.
Overall, I like this palette. The shades have pretty good color payoff and they definitely remind me of the holiday’s, for sure!
The Holiday Smokey Eye palette regularly costs $40 and is currently on sale for $25. And I also have a 10% off coupon code for you! Whoo hoo!!
This discount code is for 10% off your entire purchase: SGHOLIDAY
Go check out their site, they have so many products to choose from and this palette would be a nice Christmas gift for friends or family! I’d definitely recommend this for someone just beginning getting into makeup because it’s so easy to follow these directions and get that perfect smokey eye.
Thank you for reading beauties, have a great day!
*This is a sponsored post. I received this palette for review, but you are and ALWAYS will get my 100% honest opinion*
