Hey dolls! Quick review – and flop – of a shampoo I picked up from CVS two weeks ago…..
*** A reader commented that this line is geared more towards women of color and coarser hair – this could be why it didn’t work for me! I wanted to make a note of this because it does not say anywhere on the bottles and may be confusing to others as well. As with all products, what works for some may not work for others! Thank you, Nikole for the comment! ***
So, I was browsing through CVS’s shampoo isle and wanted to try something new, I have a hard time finding any shampoo that I really like so I enjoy trying new things whenever I need more.. I came across this, I’m pretty sure it’s new.. What caught my attention was the all-natural, sulfate-free claims:
I’ve never heard of this brand before, but there was also a shampoo for curly hair as well.
I couldn’t get a good shot of the back, my camera freaked out.
I was really excited to try this. Anything that is sulfate-free is great for dyed hair, sulfates can really fade color quickly. The ingredients all seemed amazing and if I can transfer my products over to all-natural, I absolutely try to do so… But this? I’ve used it twice so far and I’ll be returning it… It leaves my hair feeling like I didn’t even wash it.. Like there’s still a film of product over my hair.. I literally have worn my hair up every day since washing it because I HATE the way it feels.. Just gross and dirty. 😦
This costs $8.79 at CVS – I’m not sure if this brand is sold anywhere else.
I really wanted to love this! Has anyone else tried this brand and had better luck?? Leave me some comments below!

Thank you for reading! xoxo
Do you use products in your hair? A lot of products and conditioners have silicones in them, and sulfate free shampoos can’t remove them.
Only on my ends. This made my roots feel the worst of all.. It’s definitely the shampoo.
Well then, I guess I’ll be crossing Shea moisture off my to try list!
Shea Moisture is for ethnic, coarse hair. I’m black and the Shea Moisture line is my drugstore alternative for more expensive Moroccanoil line. I’ve had great results with it.
That would make sense! I’ll have to add that into the post, thank you for the comment!!
this is my favorite shampoo of all time, I use the shea moisture line and I love it!
A reader commented that this line is geared towards women of color, I had no idea! Could be why I had no luck with it.
I think that’s why, shea moisture is like one of the few hair lines that I can use at the drugstore, you should try the shea moisture skincare line, you might like that!
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
I use quite a few products from this brand. Some of the hair products don’t work for me and some do. Any hair line is like that for me. However, I really love their skin products. I think they’re coming out with a makeup line soon which is exciting 🙂
I’ve heard good things about the skin care! I’ve never seen it sold anywhere though. And makeup is always a plus! 🙂
I recently got a hair mask from this same brand and it was TERRIBLE!! I had to wash my hair two separate times to get it out!!
