Rimmel London’s Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Review:

❀

Hey, beauties! How are you?

I’ve been testing out this gel liner from Rimmel and wanted to give you guys a quick review and my opinion of this product! I’m a big gel liner fan and am always on the hunt for ones I can recommend to you.. My current favorite is Essence’s gel liner in Midnight in Paris – you can purchase Essence products online as well as at Ulta.

rliner1Rimmel’s gel liner has pretty unique packaging, it definitely intrigued me when I first saw it (this was a gift from Amanda of Mom’s Coupon Affair)

rliner3The top pops off at that dotted line area to give you a small liner brush.

rliner5It’s okay, not great but also not the worst one I’ve used. Definitely workable, especially nice for traveling.

rliner4I like that this is small and compact and since the brush is included, it’s one less thing to worry about when packing your makeup.

rliner6The bottom twists off to give you a small pot of the gel liner.

rliner7The liner is very black… But, here’s where the trouble comes in.. It’s smooth and creamy, which you’re probably thinking… Isn’t that a good thing?… But it’s almost too much… Like so much that it’s thinned out and creates streakiness, as you can see above.

The only way I could really get this to work is if I applied it in layers… Waiting until it dries, apply a layer and so on.. Which is just too much work when I have other liners that come out super pigmented in one swipe! I was disappointed because this is perfect for traveling!

As for the waterproof part? I didn’t test that out too much, it did smudge on me a little bit but that’s very typical for me.. Most gel eyeliners do.

I think this would be good for beginners, if they want to practice with liner and getting a good wing.. Especially since it’s not crazy pigmented, that makes it easier to work with if you are just starting out.. But otherwise, I’d say you can skip out on this one.

This liner is around $5.99 at the drugstores.
