Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Hoochie – Review:

❀

“Experience life in all possible ways. Good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, Summer-Winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more mature you become.”

Hello beauties!! I’m so sorry for my lack of posts! I am so excited to tell you guys that I finally got my new camera!! A Canon T3i! I’m slowly learning how to use it so bear with me while I do 🙂

IMG_0029 Today’s review is of OCC’s lip tar in the shade Hoochie (how funny is that name!)… An absolutely perfect, wearable purple.

–

For those of you unfamiliar with lip tars, they are an incredibly unique product… Almost like a liquid lipstick. These come in a tube and must be applied with a lip brush (every lip tar comes with one).. They cost $18 at Sephora and OCC’s website – Lip Tars come in TONS of colors and all different finishes – from matte, to metallic and even glosses! They are so much fun, you only need a tiny amount per application and one thing I absolutely adore about these is… You can mix shades to create your own!

–

Hoochie is a matte purple that leans either extremely purple or slightly purpley-pink-ish (yep, made up a word), depending on your skin tone.

IMG_9896You don’t even need this much when applying! Lip tars will last you forever.

IMG_9898When you first apply, it goes on shiny and wet and then it dries to a matte finish.

IMG_9902How amazing is this color!?!

IMG_9905What you see is what you get 🙂

IMG_9907These last forever on the lips and leave a stain afterwards. This was after scrubbing my hand.

1898205_10153836303700392_841281816_n-1I highly suggest you apply lip tars with a lip liner. It just helps prevent any feathering – if you apply the right amount, you won’t have a problem anyways but they can be hard to get the hang of at first so a lip liner can be a bit of an insurance policy, especially for beginners. In these photos above I used Jordana’s easy liner lip liner in the shade Cabernet to darken the outer corners a little bit.

I wore this shade at work and it lasted ALL DAY! Even after eating. It got a little bit drying after maybe 5 or so hours but I also have to contribute that to the weather and my lips are just always dry in the winter..

Lip Tars can be tricky to apply and definitely take practice but I absolutely love them…. I pretty much want them all! They are on the more pricey side at $18 each but you need the tiniest amount so each tube will probably last you a lifetime.

Hoochie is literally the perfect purple shade. I’d wear this in absolutely any season. I’m obsessed!!

You can purchase lip tars via OCC’s website or at Sephora – online and in stores!

  1. Ok I need this shade in my life! I freaking love lip tars! I have a few & also some of Sleek’s version.

  2. You rock the hell outta that shade! I’ve wanted to try lip tars for a long time, but I don’t know if I like the idea of having to apply it with a brush. I guess I’m just used to being able to apply straight from a tube.
